A cold front is sweeping across the Midwest this afternoon marking the leading edge of a cooler and less humid air mass. Scattered showers and thunderstorms have been developing across potions of Eastern Wisconsin, Lake Michigan, Michigan and Indiana and some of these storms are expected to become severe bringing hail, gusty winds and brief downpours.

The Chicago are could still see a few showers and thunderstorms pop this afternoon as the front moves through,  but the severe storms are going to develop to the east.  Gusty northwest winds will develop in the Chicago area this afternoon setting the stage for a couple of cool days with comfortable humidity levels to start the week.
